(This page covers every REV 1.5 sized Revolution kite including the John Baressi 1.5, 1.5 Pro and Pro Xtra Vent)

1995

The first REV 1.5 was introduced. The REV 1.5 was a development from Revolution listening to the needs of their customer for a mid-sized Revolution. The panel layout was 2 horizontal panels on each side and a center white panel. A SUL version was also produced. Rods available were the 2, 3 and 4 wrap versions. This panel version of the REV 1.5 was produced during 1995 and 1996.

The standard color schemes available were:
  • raspberry, turquoise and black panels - center white with black logo
  • blue and black panels - center white with black logo
  • red and black panels - center white with black logo
  • pink and turquoise panels - center white with black logo

A number of special color schemes were also manufactured, amongst them are:
  • white panels - center white with black logo
  • black panels - center black with black logo

1996

The first REV 1.5 vented was introduced. It had a single horizontal vent on each side between the two horizontal panels cutting out of the lower panels. The upper panel remained unchanged. The color schemes were apparently the same as the REV 1.5 standard. It is said by some that this was the best vented REV ever produced by Revolution.

1997

This year saw the introduction of the straight REVOLUTION logo on the REV 1.5, otherwise it the same as the previous REV 1.5 for both standard and vented including all the colors.

The standard color schemes available were:
  • raspberry, turquoise and black panels - center white with black logo
  • blue and black panels - center white with black logo
  • red and black panels - center white with black logo
  • pink and turquoise panels - center white with black logo

1998

This year marked the start of production of the first ripstop Polyester Revolution. Revolution created the new REV 1.5 with three horizontal panels on each side and added in the new Super Leading Edge (SLE) rods to the leading edge. All had white center panels with black logo. The SLE rods (.375" ID) were available in both 3 and 4 wrap versions. A SUL version was also available using the 2 wrap .25" ID rods. This version of the REV 1.5 was produced through sometime in 2000.

    The color schemes were:
  • dark blue, raspberry and black panels - center white with black logo
  • aqua, gold and violet panels - center white with black logo
  • black, red and black panels - center white with black logo

    The 1999 color schemes were:
  • raspberry, gold and blue panels - center white with black logo
  • black, red and black panels - center white with black logo
  • blue, raspberry and black panels - center white with black logo

There was a change to the venting for the REV 1.5. Two vertical vents on each side were introduced. The panel layout and colors were the same as standard REV 1.5. This vented version was apparently the standard through 2001.

The REV 1.5 EXP was introduced. This version was created as an introductory REV 1.5 at a lower price. The REV 1.5 EXP had a similar panel layout to the 1997 REV 1.5 except for the center panel being smaller. It was also made from rip stop nylon versus polyester. The rods for the EXP were 3 wrap. These rods do not have labels.

    Color schemes were:
  • aqua and dark blue panels - center white with black logo
  • dark blue and raspberry panels - center white with black logo

In 1999 an additional combination was added:
  • aqua and raspberry panels - center white with black logo

In 2001 the colors produced were:
  • raspberry and blue panels - center white with black logo
  • red and black panels - center white with black logo
  • bright-green and blue panels - center white with black logo
  • aqua and gold panels - center white with black logo

In 2002 the colors produced were:
  • raspberry and blue panels - center white with black logo
  • red and black panels - center white with black logo
  • raspberry and gold panels - center white with black logo
  • aqua and violet panels - center white with black logo

In 2003 the colors added were:
  • red and blue panels - center white with black logo

In 2006 the colors added were:
  • aqua and black panels - center white with black logo

2000

A new nine panel layout for the standard was released which lasted only through 2001. An SUL version was also available which, apparently, was still manufactured in this panel layout through at least 2003. The center panel is white with black logo.

The colors schemes of the panels were, from top to bottom:
  • black, raspberry, blue, black panels - center white with black logo
  • black, gold, red, black panels - center white with black logo
  • blue, white, red, blue panels - center white with black logo
  • aqua, white, blue, black panels - center white with black logo
  • blue, hot-yellow, hot-pink, blue panels - center white with black logo
  • Other color schemes were available on special order.

2002

Apparently the introduced this year, the Rev 1.5 "vented" nine panel apparently was produced through 2003, maybe longer.

The color schemes for 2002 were:
  • raspberry, black, blue panels - center white with black logo
  • blue, hot-yellow, pink, blue panels - center white with black logo
  • black, gold, red, black panels - center white with black logo
  • aqua, white, blue, black panels - center white with black logo
  • Other color schemes were available on special order.

In 2002 the standard REV 1.5 was changed to eleven panels. It was also named the REV 1.5M due to a Mylar panel being added, being the fourth panel down. The center panel was white with a black logo through 2008. Apparently, the SUL version continued with the previous nine panel lay out until about 2005 or 2006.

    The color schemes were:
  • aqua, raspberry, blue, Mylar, black - center white with black logo
  • blue, lime, purple, Mylar, lime - center white with black logo
  • aqua, blue, purple, Mylar, black - center white with black logo
  • yellow, gold, orange, Mylar, red - center white with black logo
  • hot-orange, white, purple, Mylar, hot-orange - center white with black logo

From 2003 through 2006 the following color scheme were added to the original 2002 colors:
  • blue, white, red, Mylar, blue - center white with black logo
  • red, white, black, Mylar, red - center white with black logo

As of 2007, the SUL and the vented took on the eleven panel layout and same colors as the standard REV 1.5. This continues to be true through 2011.

In 2007, the Mylar panel was dropped and a new color scheme replaced the previous being:
  • red, black - center white with black logo
  • aqua, black - center white with black logo
  • lime, blue - center white with black logo
  • gold, red - center white with black logo

  • lime and blue - center white with black logo
  • gold and red - center white with black logo
  • red, white and blue - center white with black logo
  • white and aqua - center white with black logo

The standard REV 1.5 is continued under the year 2009.

  • In 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 the colors available were the same as the non-vented. Mylar panels were replaced with standard panels at the same time.

It was developed by John Baressi and Bazzer and was tested in depth by Team iQuad. In tests it was found to be smooth and easy to fly in wind gusts of 35MPH.
The XTRA Vent is manufactured exclusively and personally by Bazzer with absolute precision.
